Phonics Success
Deluxe 2006
begins with a section on Letters, which explores the building blocks of
written English. The Consonants portion introduces letter sound
relationships and helps users identify words. The Blends section
provides instruction and activities that foster the recognition of
complete words. In Beginning & Ending Sounds, exercises and
activities help kids match letter sounds to written words. Short &
Long Vowels features lessons and games that distinguish the vowels from
each other. The Words curriculum teaches the ways that spoken English
is represented through letter combinations. Reading Readiness is an
enjoyable activity suite filled with games that prepare young minds for
a lifetime of reading fluency. Reading I starts kids on two complete
stories: The
Color Tree
and Hare
and Bear.
Reading II takes reading a step further with such stories as Tall Bill and Short
Phil and The Bread That Grew. Reading III offers
even more great stories, including Cock-a-Doodle Moo and My Friend Horace. Reading
Comprehension supplies four tales specifically designed to help
identify narrative elements: Dino the Star Catcher, Annie's City
Adventures, Janice and Juanita and Jared's Special
