A revolutionary way to add SigningAvatar characters to your
content and see it signed!
Studio
authoring tool allows educators, instructional system designers, and
anyone who creates Web, CD-ROM, DVD, or kiosk content to bring the
magic of characters that communicate through sign language to digital
media. No previous animation or programming experience is required!
Signed English (SE) translations are automatically generated using Sign
Smith Studio. Authors that are fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)
can create content that incorporates the signs, facial expressions,
mouthing and eye gaze that are integral to communicating in ASL. The
Showtime! cast of 3D animated SigningAvatar characters perform your
script and sign your text. Studio creates web page HTML, script or
video output.

expressions that play a critical role in the interpretation of ASL
- Gaze – control head and
eye movement with an infinite number of locations for eyes to look and
head to move
- Speech – enable mouthing
for ASL or speech for Signed English

Authoring
with Sign Smith
Sign
Smith Studio comes with the right to distribute (to play) the created
content onto 5 different computers. The player (or runtime) is called
Showtime! Your choice of three products delivers the signed content to
users:
1) Sign Smith
Showtime!, our client PC solution, loads the cast of 3D animated
characters on the user’s PC, where they stand ready to perform
2) Sign Smith
Showtime! Server, our server solution, is hosted on a Web Server
(Internet or LAN) and serves simulations as needed by the user
3) Video created by
Sign Smith Studio may be used in any web page or software program and
viewed on a PC or MAC
