Phonics Alive! 2 The Sound
Blender allows students to learn
and to practice within an interactive environment, and most
importantly, to do so each at their own pace.
The Sound Blender introduces and consolidates advanced decoding skills
to assist students to recognize and decode previously unknown
words.
It is also highly recommended for ESL and students with reading
difficulties.
Module Information
There are twelve self paced, interactive modules, each containing
rhyming, blending & keyboard exercises as follows:
- General Introduction to Consonant/Vowel/Consonant sounds
- Introduction of Consonant/Consonant/Vowel/Consonant words
and sounds
- Introduction of Consonant/Vowel/Consonant/Consonant words
and sounds
- Blending of 5 or 6 letter words
- Blending of words with "SS", "LL" and "CK"
- Blending of words with "CH", "SH" and "TH"
- Blending words with long vowel sounds
- Blending words with long vowel sounds "A" & "E"
- Blending words with long vowel sounds "O" & "U"
- Blending words with "OI", "OY",
"AR" & "ALL"
- Blending words with "OU/OW", "IR"/"ER"/"UR", "IGH/IE"
- Blending words with "OR/ORE", "AW/AU", "PH", "KN", "WR"
- All forms of digraphs, diphthongs, silent letters &
suffixes are explored and explained.
FEATURES
All progress can be recorded & results may be printed.
Once students have completed a module they may print a certificate at
the end of that module. The certificate displays a percentage mark
calculated on the number of times the student chose the correct
response on the first attempt.
Easy navigation and quick access to main menu at startup.
A computer voiceover has been designed to guide students through the
program. Students do not require reading skills to use The Sound
Blender.
Option for parent/teacher to see on screen, all tasks included in the
complete program.
Option to adjust speed settings.
